Types of artificial intelligence

There are four main types of artificial intelligence, and as it is a topic that is very fashionable, you have to know what they are: 

Reactive Machines: Undoubtedly, it is the most basic of artificial intelligence. Nor are memories stored, nor are they used for decision making. Reactive machines perceive the world directly as they see it, and so act. Their functioning does not require them to create a model of the world. The relevant of this type is their ability to make the right choice among millions of possibilities, according to the immediate situation that arises them. 

Machines with limited memory: it is a vivid example of the artificial intelligence of autonomous cars, which do have a world on which to remember aspects such as tracks or traffic lights, and it adds the details of the present moment, with data on pedestrians or cars around. At the moment, they are not stored as memories.

  

Machines with a Theory of Mind: are those machines that are able to understand and express the emotions and ideas of the world, while being able to have them own, adapted to the world and respecting the existing, can thus work as a team and to be part of the day to day life of human beings. 

Machines with self-consciousness: it is the maximum level, in which machines are able to see themselves with perspective in their environment, internally and being able to predict behaviors and feelings alien to them. Machines that are able to construct a representation of them will be the last step of the systems of Artificial Intelligence. 

Applied artificial intelligence 

Artificial Intelligence can be used in a wide range of fields, including medical diagnosis, business stock trading, robotic controls, laws, scientific discoveries and toys. 

However, many applications of artificial intelligence are not perceived as such: Many artificial intelligence has been filtered in general applications, commonly without being called as such, because once something becomes sufficiently useful and common it is no longer considered as artificial intelligence. Thousands of artificial intelligence applications are deeply embedded in the infrastructure of every industry. At the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 21st century, artificial intelligence technologies began to be widely used as elements of larger systems. 

Artificial intelligence impact 

It is a concrete fact that the world is immersed in the context of globalization and the revolution of information and communication technologies and that therefore the role of artificial intelligence is today something transcendent, as is generating qualitative changes in traditional intelligence. 

In the short and medium term, artificial intelligence is expected to bring efficiency and savings, not only in production and trade, but also in areas such as transport of people and goods, medical care, education and agriculture, and that human beings could be prevented from exposing themselves to dangerous conditions, such as those involving the cleaning of places contaminated with toxic substances. 

Undoubtedly, the future looks promising, and more and more are the technological innovations that help the human being in his daily life.
